Team of Vets Still Looking to Play Ball

After a disappointing exit in the first round of the 2009 playoffs the Bums look to pitch their way into the championship in 2010. The addition of perinial MVP Brian Donegan and newest Dodger Ben Warner makes them tough, really tough. Re-tooled and reinvigorated the Dodgers are ready to compete for the elusive Wiffle Atl Championship.

With this veteran pitching staff you never get an inning off form facing all-star caliber stuff. Neil is lights out and holds a lifetime Wiffle ATL leading 1.00 WHIP to go with his 2.33 ERA, just nasty. Grant leads the league in career Ks with 292 in 133 1/3 innings and brings mad heat, while Blaine is right behind him with 233 Ks in 167 innings and a nice 3.49 ERA.

The Dodgers may not have the highest batting average but these guys can hit. Chris Heiden with 35 career HRs, and Blaine Milam with career 40 HRs can each make a run for the Home Run title. Grant Yarborough and Neil Bowen know how to get on base and are both great in the clutch. What they lack in hits they make up for in distance and Dodger rookie Ben Warner will stabilize the lineup, while Brian make the Dodgers an elite team.

The defense is solid. Blaine has always been good in the field and will make plays, Brian is as good as it gets. Neil, Chris and Grant all play well in the field and newest Dodger Ben promises to flash the leather.

Projection:
Everyone is a playoff contender in the Wiffle ATL but the Dodgers are poised to make a solid run at the title. They’re better than they were in 09 and this writer thinks the title would look good draped in Dodger blue.
